Street and Documentary photographer Robert Yager grew up in London. He decided to go hitchhiking around Europe and borrowed his friend’s camera to take images. He lived in Mexico for a while until he moved to Los Angeles. He then began documented L.A’s Latino gangs and he photographed their activities, families, fights, drugs, graffitti and war wounds.
I really like his images because they are really honest and some are quite shocking. The images often feature guns and violence. The images which shocked me most are those which feature children surrounded by money or even guns. Yager has managed to find a way into the gang’s setup and been able to capture things which people may never have imagined happening, such as a baby lying next to money and guns.
